Byrnina "Bee" Jones passed away at the Hospice of Laramie on Aug. 27, 2018, after a valiant two-year battle with pancreatic cancer.
Byrnina Alma (Blakeslee) Jones was born to Hubert Jason and Gertrude (Simmons) Blakeslee on Aug. 24, 1933. She grew up in Evergreen and graduated from Evergreen High School in 1952. She was a certified dental assistant working in Evergreen for Dr. Leonard Wheaton.
On Aug. 9, 1970, she married Fred R. Jones. Bee and Fred moved several times, living in Hooper, Colo., Duchesne, Utah, Lewis, Colo., and Elephant Butte, N.M. They were avid horsemen, running pack trips and enjoyed the Appaloosa horse club in Duchesne. After retirement, they spent winters in Elephant Butte, where they were involved in the sailboat club and many sailboat activities.
During the summers, they lived in Evergreen in the farmhouse where she grew up, which was built by her great-grandfather.
Bee was an avid conservationist, bird and animal lover, and was born with a green thumb. She enjoyed traveling with Fred; they went sailing in the Sea of Cortez and around the San Juan Islands, and traveled to Maine, Wisconsin and all over the western states.
Bee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, nephew Jason Blakeslee and niece Jeanne Turley.
Bee is survived and greatly missed by her brother Kenneth Blakeslee and sister-in-law Ruth of Grand Junction; a sister, Leona Turley and niece Susan Adler of Laramie, Wyo.; a nephew, Ric Turley; three stepchildren, Patsy Lyons, Perry Jones and David Jones; several cousins and many friends.
In compliance with Byrnina's wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Hospice of Laramie, 1754 Centennial Drive, Laramie, WY 82070 would be appreciated.
