Richard Yeagley Obituary
Born Nov. 5, 1926, in State College, Pa., he was the son of Blanche and Henry L. Yeagley Sr.
He was a World War II Navy veteran from 1943-46, serving on a destroyer escort in the North Atlantic.
A member of the State College High School class of 1944, he was co-captain of the soccer team.
He was a journalism and advertising major at Penn State, and was on the varsity soccer team. He graduated in 1950.
He was active for some years in Jaycees and Toastmasters.
On April 9, 1960, he married Gun-Britt Mary Ström in Studio City, Calif.
He coached elementary and junior high soccer for five years in State College.
He was a retired vice president for publications at The Barash Group in State College.
He served on the board of directors of the Centre Communities Chapter of the American Red Cross, and was a 24-gallon blood donor.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Erik Henry Yeagley and his wife, Shaina, of Evergreen; a daughter, Kirsten Elizabeth Yeagley of Denver; Erik's son Hayden L. Yeagley of Evergreen; Shaina's son Seth Bruce of Evergreen; and a sister, Elizabeth Forrest White of Laguna Niguel, Calif.
A brother, Henry L. Yeagley Jr., died in 2003.
Memorial gifts may be made in units of blood or platelets or with checks to the American Red Cross or the Colorado Bonfils Blood Center.

Witt taught me so much about editing and proofing at Barash. He was tough, but also a big teddy bear underneath. Whenever I proof anything today, I always think, what would Witt do? Sir, you will be missed!

Dad....You touched many lives throughout the years, especially in State College where you were born, raised and brought your family back to as well. You had a great smile and wry "Witt" wit. I always looked up to you even though I was taller. I'm so glad you and mom followed me to Colorado. I miss you terribly, but will always remember you fondly. Thank you for all the years!
