Caroline Dirsa Obituary

PROVINCETOWN —

Caroline Agnes Dirsa, 91, of Provincetown died on Feb. 4, 2009, in Leduc, Alberta, Canada.

Born in Provincetown in 1917, Caroline married Joseph Dirsa in 1936, a year after graduating from high school. She was a member of the first graduating class from the current high school.

She was predeceased by her husband and a grandson, Kevin Dirsa.

Caroline enjoyed playing bingo with her friends and making tutus at Christmastime. She worked for the A&P and at the Tides Motel.

Caroline and her husband ran a small restaurant, Joe's Coffee Locker, for a number of years.

She is survived by her son, Tom, and daughter-in-law, Margaret, of Leduc, Alberta, Canada; two grandsons, Michael and his wife, Jennifer, of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Canada, and Keith of Atlanta, Ga.; a granddaughter, Laurie of Kinuso, Alberta, Canada; a brother, Michael of Coco, Fla.; and four great-grandsons, Brandon, Brady, Noah and Maxwell, plus many nephews and nieces.

A private graveside service will be held in the near future.

In her memory, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society at St. Peter's Church, Provincetown.

It was a pleasure to speak with Caroline every morning when she would call in for our reassurance program. She made our day a bit brighter. We will miss her.

To the family of Caroline Dirsa, just saw the passing of your beloved mother Tom, and your sister Michael, don't know if any of you will remember me as I have fond memories of Caroline and Joe when I lived up in Provincetown and would like to send my condolences to you all and to say that I will always, keep her and Joe in my prayers, as I know that you all will miss her, so take care for now, always, Tom C. Francis
