Daniel DiLullo Obituary

CENTERVILLE — Daniel Joseph DiLullo, 86, of Centerville, passed over after a long illness, on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Hospice & Palliative Care of Cape Cod McCarthy Care Center in Sandwich.

Born on Sept. 9, 1922, he was educated in Malden, where he resided until he and his wife moved to Cape Cod in 1979. Daniel served in the Army Signal Corps during World War II in London, England, where he met Mildred, his wife of 64 years. He was a member of Brits of Cape Cod and Plymouth Spiritualist Church.

Daniel was a great lover of animals and over the course of his lifetime had enjoyed the company of many dogs.

Daniel is survived by his wife, Mildred; four children: daughter, Iris and husband Ken Watson of South Yarmouth, son, Daniel and wife Susan of Melrose, daughter, Christine and husband Steve Kerwin of Marstons Mills, and daughter, Joanna and husband Steve Ross of Vienna, Va. Over the years, he was also blessed with 12 grandchildren, Denise, Darlene and Ken Watson, Kathy and Barbara DiLullo, Lori Feinberg and Amy DiLullo, Ian and Erica Kerwin, and Tyler, Cody and Samantha Ross; and eight great-grandchildren, Molly Watson, Max Roberts, Tenley, Logan and Brayden Feinberg, Georgia and Richard Simpson and Alexandra Lloyd. Daniel also leaves a niece, Geraldine DiLullo, and a nephew, Andre DiLullo, who are the children of his predeceased brother, Andre.

A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, at 11 a.m., at Plymouth Spiritualist Church, 131 Standish Ave., Plymouth. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Associated Humane Societies, Humane Way, P.O. Box 43, Forked River, NJ 08731-0043, or MSPCA, 1577 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632-2944.

Daniel's family would like to express their appreciation for the care given to him by the staff of McCarthy Care Center during his final days.

His favorite expression was "it's good to be home," and now he is.
