Darleen Powers Obituary
She was the beloved wife of Paul A. Johnson; loving mother of Michael R. Powers and his wife Jody of Cambridge, Keith A. Powers and his wife Michiko of Palo Alto, Calif., and the late Mark R. Powers; devoted daughter of Ruth E. (Howe) Daly of Centerville and the late Gerard R. DeNapoli; dear sister of Gerard R. "Gary" DeNapoli and his wife Elizabeth of Newtown Square, Pa., and Lenore Bavota and her husband Woodrow of Sandwich. She was also survived by her cherished granddaughter, Harmony.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning at 11, in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 15 St. Paul St., Brookline. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 376 Washington St., Brookline, on Friday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Interment is in Walnut Hills Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Darleen may be made to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 44 Binney St., Boston, MA. 02115.
Arrangements are by the Bell-O'Dea Funeral Home, 617-277-7652.

I just learned of Darleen's death from mutual friends today. I am truly saddened and shocked by her passing, and my thoughts are with you and the family at this time. Both of you gave me my start, and I will always have that time at Powers and Company to remember. I will miss Darleen. All my thoughts and prayers to you.

My heartfelt sympathy to husband Paul and Darleen's loved ones. I did not know Darleen, but greatly admire Paul Johnson who is a very fine architect. It is crystal clear that he loved his wife to pieces and did all he could to care for her. He bragged about the "lioness" in his life mightily! I am indeed the less fortunate not to have had a chance to know Darleen, but her influence on the design and color scheme of the recently renovated Mason Pool in Roxbury is very apparent and downright fun.
