Joseph Jacinto Obituary
He was the loving wife of Irene (Marshall) Jacinto for 61 years; father of Joseph E. Jacinto II and his wife, Michele, of Maryland; and grandfather of Daniel Joseph Jacinto. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Retired from the commonwealth of Massachusetts, Joseph was a World War II Army veteran who spent 34 months overseas.He was also a member of the American Legion Post 188 of Sandwich. He loved gardening, woodworking and his dogs, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at noon Friday, Oct. 9, at Corpus Christi Church, Meetinghouse Road, East Sandwich. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.
Memorials in his name may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Massachusetts, 1 Bulfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.

Joe was one of our favorite neighbors when we lived in Sandwich. We loved talking with Joe and he was the one we would go to when we had a gardening question. He loved walking around the neighborhood and we called him "Mr Cookieman" because he always had a pocketful of doggie cookies. Joe would stand at the end of our driveway, lighting his pipe very slowly, and wait for our black lab, Sam, to come bounding out. Joe, I hope you have a cookie in your pocket because Sam is waiting.
Irene, our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family. We loved Joe very much.
