Julia Gaspari Obituary
She was the wife of 63 years to the late Rinaldo "Rene" Gaspari.
Born in Italy, she lived in Dorchester until she moved to Dennis in 1970. She was an active member of Our Lady of the Cape and a founding member of the Ladies' Guild.
Julia enjoyed baking and was well known for her apple pie and Christmas cookies. She was very proficient at many handcrafts including sewing, quilting, knitting and needlepoint. But what she enjoyed most was socializing.
She is survived by her daughter, Clare Thurston, and son-in-law Sam of Dennis; granddaughters Sarah (Brendan) McGuire and Julie Thurston; and great-grandson Patrick McGuire.
Her last five years were spent at Thirwood Assisted Living, a home she loved. Much appreciation to the kind staff for the care and attention she received there.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 27, at Morris, O'Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 678 Main St., Harwich. A funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Cape Church, Stony Brook Road, Brewster. Interment will be held in Dennis Cemetery, Dennis.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Our Lady of the Cape Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 1799, Brewster, MA 02631.
