Thomas Rorrie Obituary
Mr. Rorrie was born and raised in Westwood, and was a 1940 graduate of Dedham High School. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Sproston during WWII. He was recalled and served again during the Korean War.
Mr. Rorrie worked as a machinist and plumber before joining Ecolab in St. Paul, Minnesota in sales and service until his retirement in the late 1980s. He was a member of the Masonic Celestial Lodge and the American Legion in Westwood and was past president of the Ostomy Assoc. of Cape Cod.
In addition to his wife, survivors include three sons, David Rorrie of Westwood, Thomas Rorrie of Raynham and Scott Rorrie of Millis, a brother Algot Rorrie of Bellingham, 2 grandchildren, Jennifer and Joshua and 1 great-grandchild Marcus.
Friends and relatives are invited to call from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, at the Hallett Funeral Home, 273 Station Ave., S. Yarmouth with a Masonic service at 6:30 p.m. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, in the funeral home. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne will be at 2:45 p.m., on Friday.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Ostomy Assoc. of Cape Cod, PO Box 486, Dennisport, MA 02639.
