Daisy Mae Edwards Holt

SMITHFIELD - Daisy Mae Edwards Holt, age 83, of Moonlight Road, died Sunday, November 23, 2003, in Obici Hospital, Suffolk. She was a native of Isle of Wight County and a retired nursing assistant from Obici Hospital. Mrs. Holt was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Project We Care. Her husband, Henry Lee Holt and a granddaughter, Amy Elizabeth James, preceded Mrs. Holt in death. Survivors include daughter Elizabeth Holt James and her husband, Milton, of Smithfield; son John H. Holt Sr. of Surry; three sisters, Thelma Edwards of Smithfield, Evelyn E. Munford of Windsor and Charlotte E. Scott of Rescue; two brothers Gwaltney L. Edwards of Ivor and John Wesley Edwards of Smithfield; seven grandchildren, John Jr., Tammy, Tracy, Frank, Tiffany, Toni and Tilden; and eight great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday, November 26, at 11 a.m. in Bethany Cemetery, Smithfield, with the Rev. Tommy Reynolds officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 25, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Surry Methodist Church, P.O.
