John Neale Obituary

John Milton Neale II (Jay) of Severna Park, Maryland, aged 84, died on Saturday, September 23, 2017. He was surrounded by his family. Jay was born April 25, 1933 in Plainfield, New Jersey, to John Milton and Alice Neale. He attended the Penn Charter School in Philadelphia and Denison University in Granville, OH, graduating with a degree in Economics. He and his wife, Constance Ruth Allis, were married in Bryn Mawr, PA. Their son, Jeffrey Allis Neale, arrived in 1971, and all three moved to Maryland in 1975 where Jay became a vice-president in the Employee Benefits Department of the Union Trust Bank in Baltimore. Jay's loves included his family, sailing, skiing, music, and railroads. For seventeen years, after he retired, Jay worked as a sailing instructor at the Annapolis Sailing School and then - his passion for sailing being second only to his love of all things railroad - he became a docent at the B & O Railroad Museum. An active member of Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, he was a charter member of the men's handyman group and loved singing in the choir. Jay is survived by his loving wife of fifty years, Connie Neale. He is also survived by his son Jeffrey Allis Neale, daughter-in-law Larissa Neale, and his two granddaughters Charlotte and Juliet. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 30 at 10 am at Woods Memorial Presbyterian Church, 611 Baltimore Annapolis Blvd, Severna Park. In lieu of flowers, Jay's family requests that donations be made in his name to the church.

Dear Connie & family,
Greg Walters Jr. & I were surprised, but very sorry, to hear about Jay's passing.
We did enjoy our yearly volunteer dinners together at the B&O Museum. Be assured of our thoughts & prayers at this time. Greg Jr. will surely miss working with Jay on Mondays.
