Lloyd Wainscott, Jr. of Heritage Plantation, Pawleys Island, SC, died on Friday, March, 23, 2018 at the age of 83. He was born in Covington, KY the son of the late Lloyd and Gladys Wainscott. Lloyd served in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War and attended the University of Kentucky and the Ohio College of Applied Sciences. He was an electrical engineer, working with Burton-Rogers in system designs of military tactic systems, Lockheed-Martin's Titan Missile project, The Link Company and retired from National Systems Management Corporation where he developed programs for Anti-Ship Weapon Systems. Lloyd's love of flying stayed with him from his first solo flight in 1966. He was a Certified Flight Instructor with a commercial and instrument rating. Lloyd taught ground school and flying lessons to budding pilots, always embracing the joy of flying for over 40 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason of the Rocky Mountain Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and a member of the Hanselman Lodge #208 F&AM in Cincinnati, OH for over 50 years. Lloyd was also a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Kiwanis International and St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Rosemary Rose Wainscott; son, Timothy B. Wainscott (Karen); granddaughters, Molly Wainscott Jones (Dusty); Ashley Remmer (Billy); Carolyn Johnson; sisters, Rita Webster (John), Joanette Lee; brother, Roger Wainscott. The family would like to especially thank the Nursing Staff, Physical Therapy and Activities Staff at NHC, Garden City, SC for their loving care and support of Lloyd. A Celebration of Lloyd's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at St. Paul's Waccamaw United Methodist Church in Pawleys Island, SC.
