William Holland Wallop "Bunky", 88, a 55-year resident of Annapolis, died peacefully June 1 at his home after being diagnosed with a brain tumor in February of 2013. Dr. Wallop was born on February 23, 1925 in Washington, DC and attended Old Central High School. He attended Princeton University in the Navy V-12 program completing his pre-medical training in 1945. He graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in NYC in 1949 and interned at Philadelphia General Hospital from 1949-1951. He then served two years in Japan with the US Air Force Medical Corps. He was in general practice in Washington, DC for two years and was then Chief Surgeon on the US Liner SS American for 6 months prior to beginning his X-ray residency. He was a staff radiologist at Anne Arundel General Hospital from 1958-1962 leaving to go into private practice with Dr William Thomas. He was a radiologist at North Arundel Hospital from the day it opened until 1995. He was President of the Maryland Radiology Society from 1967-1968. Dr. Wallop enjoyed racing sail boats and won many trophies and awards in the Alberg 30 and J/30 classes on the Chesapeake Bay. He was a member of the Annapolis Yacht Club and the State and County Medical Societies. He also enjoyed playing Bocce, reading, musicals, show tunes, singing and music. He was preceded in death by his son, William James Holland Wallop. He is survived by his wife, Rosemary Naselli Wallop; four children, Janice Wallop Gruehn, John Douglass Wallop, Judith Wallop Karr and Alison Wallop Griswold; and 16 grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. And 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, June 7 at John M Taylor Funeral Home, Inc. 147 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis. A funeral mass will be held 9 a.m., Saturday, June 8 at St Mary's Church 109 Duke of Gloucester St, Annapolis. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in Dr Wallop's name to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.
