Betty Delores Cooney, 84, of Sykesville, died Monday, July 15, 2013, at Fairhaven.
Born March 28, 1929, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late George Samuel and Frances Bradley Wareheim. She was the wife of Milton Russell Cooney.
She had been a sales representative with Hochschild Kohn. She enjoyed dance rollerskating and had won medals at Vernon's Roller Rink. She liked singing and was a member of the Catonsville Sweet Adelines, and formed Catonsville Senior Center's Catonaires.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son M. Russell Cooney II and wife Michele, of Westminster; daughter Nancy Lee Jones and husband Gary, of Hanover, Pa.; four grandsons; five great-grandsons; two great-granddaughters; and one great-great-granddaughter.
She was predeceased by a brother, George S. Wareheim Jr.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Marriottsville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, 1850 York Road, Suite D, Timonium, MD 21093.
