Billy Mac Bentley Sr., 78, of Manchester, died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at home.
Born July 23, 1935, in Russellville, Tenn., he was the son of the late David Lewis and Mamie Potter Bentley. He was the husband of Dorothy Jean Bentley, his wife of 60 years.
He was a heavy equipment operator with LaFarge. He was a member of Rockland Church and enjoyed fishing, listening and watching preaching, and watching baseball, football and horse racing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children and spouses Billy M. Jr. and Kathleen Bentley, of Westminster, Lewis and Wendy Bentley, of Manchester, Lawrence and Jennie Bentley, of Hampstead, Vicky Koch, of Hampstead, and Timmy and Lori Bentley, of Manchester; a sister, Sarah Cody, of Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Richard Bentley; and siblings David Lewis Bentley, Eskell Bentley and Donald Bentley.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of service, 7 p.m. Tuesday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster, with his son, Lawrence, officiating. Interment will be private.
