Margaret Louise (nee Conaway) Franklin, age 82, of Taylorsville, Maryland, passed away on February 7, 2018, at her home. Born August 4, 1935 in Woodbine, Maryland, Margaret was the daughter of the late Raymond and the late Ruth (nee Fleming) Conaway. She was the wife of the late Harry Ellsworth Franklin, who died on October 13, 2012. Margaret was a 1953 graduate of Sykesville High School. After graduation, Margaret worked for The Hoover Company in Baltimore and Maryland Milk Producers in Eldersburg. She was employed at Random House in Westminster from 1970 until her retirement in 1992. In addition, she was the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Ideal Homes/Ridge Cabinet Company, up until the time of her passing. Margaret was a member of the Women of the Moose, the Farm Bureau, and Taylorsville United Methodist Church. Margaret enjoyed gardening, attending live country music shows, and watching country music shows on television. Surviving are children Karen Franklin of Taylorsville, Mark Franklin and daughter-in-law Tammy Franklin of Taylorsville, Kevin Franklin and daughter-in-law Rebecca Franklin of Winfield; grandchildren Kyle Franklin and Amy Franklin; step-grandchildren Jessica Morataya (Will), Christopher Tetlow (Colby), Lieutenant Adam Granic; step-great-grandchildren Blake, Ryan, and Evan Morataya, Madelyn Tetlow, Evie and Riley Karstens; brothers Richard Conaway and wife, Connie, Robert Conaway and wife, Pat, and sister-in-law, Linda Conaway. Margaret was predeceased by granddaughter, Caitlyn Crawford, and brother, Raymond Conaway. The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 11, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Burrier-Queen Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1212 West Old Liberty Road, Winfield. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, February 12, at 11:00 a.m. with Art Monroe, Chaplain of Carroll Hospice, officiating. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service at Taylorsville United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4356 Ridge Road, Taylorsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Winfield Community Volunteer Fire Department, 1320 West Old Liberty Road, Sykesville, Maryland 21784.
