Tracey Theresa Jones - Gist, 48 of Hampstead MD, passed peacefully August 9, 2017 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, MD after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born May 19, 1969 in Westminster, MD. She was the daughter of Sterling Edward and Madeline Kay Zimmerman Jones of Finksburg, MD. She was the wife of Jeffrey Daniel Gist. Also the daughter-in-law of Carol Brooks and her extended family. Besides being a devoted mother, she enjoyed blessing others and sharing her gift of soap making even taking them to the Carroll Regional Cancer Center and Johns Hopkins Cancer Center. She also enjoyed cleaning, baking and cooking for her family along with crafting, loving her dogs, listening to music and laughing. Taking care of older people, was one of her big missions. Another passion of hers was her gift of her beautiful thriving tomato plants and flowers and anything nature. Surviving in addition to her parents and husband are her children Ronnie, Josie and Bobbie Gist, all of them at home. Her siblings Ricky and Wanda Jones and family of Hampstead, and Kristy and David Thomas of Orbisonia, PA. Nieces Lacy, Bessy, nephew Billy Thomas and great niece Jacey Wible. Loving Great Aunts Ethel Curtis and Edith Jenkins and devoted friends Carolyn Owings, Donna Upton, Margaret Larkin, Barbara Sanner, Brenda Pohlhaus. Cousins of the Snyder family and many, many friends and family too numerous to name. Thanks for the support of Deer Park United Methodist Church where she was a life-long member, and the Community Foundation of Carroll County. Thanks also to her devoted customer based family. A memorial service will be held Saturday, at 11AM at Deer Park United Methodist Church, 2205 Sykesville Road, Westminster, MD 21157 (Smallwood), at the corner of Rt. 32 and Deer Park Rd. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tracey's family at 3708 Singer Street, Hampstead, MD 21074. A private Cremation was held at All Faith's Crematory, Manchester, Maryland. Our prayers are for the family. I met Tracey at the cancer center where I volunteered, she was inspiring and fought her disease with great courage. She gave me some of her handmade soaps and I continued to pray for her and her family. May God comfort you in your loss. Joyce and Norval Bowen
