A. Jane Kennedy, 90, of Hanover, Pa., formerly of Westminster, died Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Oct. 14, 1922, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Gustav A. Leutbecher and Agnes Bradbury Leutbecher. She was the wife of Edward A. Kennedy, her husband of 68 years.

She was a 1940 graduate of Forest Park High School in Baltimore. She worked for the C & P Telephone Company in Cockeysville for almost 20 years and was an involved member of the Telephone Pioneers.

While living in Westminster for close to 40 years, she was an active member of St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church and the Lioness International, and she volunteered with other organizations such as Carroll Lutheran Village and Homewood at Plum Creek, where she and her husband lived for the past 14 years. She and her husband were avid travelers visiting multiple countries throughout the world. When not traveling, she enjoyed raising flowers, especially roses, and spending time with her schnauzers.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are son and daughter-in-law Edward and Pat Kennedy, of Westminster; a daughter, Dr. Nancy Kennedy, of Millsboro, Del.; grandson Dr. Eric Kennedy and wife Carol Kennedy, of Lewisburg, Pa.; a great-granddaughter, Ellie; nephew and wife Rick and Patti Brandt, of Brookfield, Vt.; a niece, Lucy Brandt, of Belcamp; and great-nephew and great-nieces Jim and Esther Givens, of Baltimore, and Renea Eisenhour, of Seaford, Del.

She was predeceased by a brother-in-law, Thomas Kennedy; and her only sibling, Ruth Leutbecher Ford.

A celebration of life service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Carroll County Humane Society, 2517 Littlestown Pike, Westminster, MD 21158; or to Dove House, c/o Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.
