Adele Gray, 94, of Patapsco, died Saturday, May 18, 2013, at Country Care Farm in Finksburg, where she had been a resident.

Born October 14, 1918, in Patapsco, she was the daughter of the late John William and Eliza Emma Arnold Flater. She was the wife of the late Douglas Gray who died in 2000.

She was a homemaker and an active member of Patapsco United Methodist Church, where she taught the high school Sunday school group for 42 years. She was a member of the Patapsco United Methodist Women's Society and the Sandymount Homemakers.

Surviving are sons Jon Howard and friend Mary Lassiter, of Finksburg, and Philip LeRoy Gray, of Hancock; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by brothers, Donald William, Hoyt Colgate, John Arnold and James Harry Flater and sisters Ellen Elizabeth Taylor, Anna Lida Walsh and Marian Georgia Gassman.

The family will receive friends 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held on at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mindy Coates officiating. Interment will follow in Patapsco United Methodist Church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Patapsco United Methodist Church, c/o Patricia Sisson, 731 Ridge Road, Finksburg, MD 21048.
