Adeline Cialone, 86, of Shirleysburg, Pa., died Friday evening, Oct. 5, 2012, at the Huntingdon Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Huntingdon, Pa.

Born Aug. 11, 1926, on the family farm in Orbisonia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Michael and Angelina Battistone Zinobile. She was the wife of Anthony J. "Tony" Cialone, whom she married June 12, 1954, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shade Gap, Pa., and who died Feb. 11, 2008.

She had been a resident at Huntingdon for three weeks, having been homebound for almost five years following her husband's death. She had been in failing health for 11 years.

During high school she began working as a switchboard operator at the Orbisonia Telephone Company for Thomas and Rita Cupillari. Following her 1944 graduation from Orbisonia High School, she attended the Huntingdon Business School for two years and then began working at the Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersbug, Pa., L. Greif Bros. Manufacturing Company, in Mount Union, Pa., and lastly as a school bus driver for both Southern Huntingdon and Mount Union school districts. For more than 38 years, she was co-owner of Cialone's Beverage with her husband.

She was a member of both St. Mary's and St. Catherine's Catholic churches over her lifetime. At St. Mary's, she was a member of the Ladies' Guild. She was also a member of the Orbisonia-Rockhill Fire Department Ladies' Auxiliary, the Orbisonia American Legion, and the Shirleysburg hand quilting club.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, gardening, canning, playing bingo and sewing. She was known for her cooking. She crocheted the American flag for the Fort Shirley Historical Society's preparation forthe 1976 USA and Shirleysburg Bicentennial celebration. The flag is now displayed at the Fort Shirley Heritage Association building in Shirleysburg.  She and her husband enjoyed babysitting their two grandchildren when they were young.

Surviving are daughter Angelina Cialone Kershaw and husband Craig Michael, of Eldersburg; grandchildren Laura Kershaw, of Virginia Beach, Va., and Michael Robert Kershaw, of Eldersburg; and siblings Alfred and Tony Zinobile, and Anna Edgin.

She was predeceased by sons Fred A. Cialone, infant, and Fred M. Cialone; and siblings Adeline, Alfred, Anna, Albert and Gina Ziobile, all infants, and Hubert, Hugh and Orlando Zinobile.

Family and friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Heath Funeral Home in Mount Union, where a vigil will be held.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Mount Union, with the Rev. Father Raymond Crossar officiating. Interment will be in the Shope Cemetery in Black Log Valley, Orbisonia.
