Alan Thomas Hendrix, age 69 of Marriottsville, died Sunday, May 1, 2016 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster. Born October 27, 1946 in Miami, FL, he was the son of the late James and Rosemary Hendrix. He was the husband of Brenda Hendrix of Marriottsville, his wife of 46 years. Alan was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served two tours in Vietnam, most of which were on board a river patrol boat. He had been employed with FMC in Baltimore as a stationary engineer. He coached and umpired several recreational sports. He had been involved in the Liberty High School football program. He enjoyed fishing and riding his Harley Davidson with friends and making his annual trip to Ocean City Bike Week. Surviving in addition to his wife are sons Jeremy K. Hendrix of Eldersburg, and Derek A. Hendrix of Westminster, brothers James E. Hendrix Jr. and his spouse Lou of Weatherford, TX, and Ronald Hendrix and his spouse Linda of Agawam, Massachusetts, and grandchildren MacKenzie and Kendall Hendrix. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Hendrix. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
