Albert Sylvester "Jack" Lovejoy, age 75, of Woodsboro, died Wednesday, October 18, 2016 at his home, following a long-term illness. Born March 26, 1941 in Leewood, WV, he was the son of the late Early Pleasant Lovejoy and Ruby Pearl Davis Lovejoy. Mr. Lovejoy was a 1959 graduate of Elmer Wolfe High School. He served in the Army and was a member of the American Legion and AMVets. He was formerly employed with the Department of Energy, Germantown for 34 years and enjoyed playing cards, golfing and spending time with his friends. Surviving are children, Christopher Lovejoy and wife, Angie of Woodsboro, Albert Sylvester Lovejoy II and wife, Ruth of St. Cloud, FL, and Holly Brock and husband, John of South Carolina; grandchildren, Chris Lovejoy and wife Sara of Union Bridge, Michael Lovejoy and wife, Christina of Lewistown, MD, Dakota Lovejoy of Union Bridge, John Luke Brock of South Carolina, Augusta Lovejoy and Breanna Lovejoy, both of Florida; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Linda Lovejoy Gassaway of Baltimore. He was predeceased by a sister, Luella Lovejoy-Ellison; and brother, Odis Lovejoy. The family will receive friends at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge on Friday, Oct. 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. Online condolences may be shared with the family at
