Alexander Benhardt Ober Jr., 90, of Westminster, died Monday, July 2, 2012, at Brightview Westminster Ridge.

Born Nov. 24, 1921, in Allegheny, Pa., he was the son of the late Alexander B. Ober Sr. and Florence Pretting Ober. He was the husband of Florence Richter Ober, who died Nov. 18, 2003.

He served as a staff sergeant in the Air Force during World War II. He had worked for data processing companies and had retired from the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

He enjoyed sport car racing and all kinds of cars, especially antique cars.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law Dr. Alex G. and Janet Ober, of Westminster, and Paul C. and Peggy Ober, of Green Valley, Ariz.; grandchildren Cara, Christiana and Alex G. Ober Jr., and Dayna Hadden; and great-grandchildren Joanna and Ally Hadden, and Leo Bowen.

He was the last of his immediate family.

A service of remembrance will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Westminster Ridge, 507 High Acre Drive, Westminster. Interment will be private.
