Alexander "Pete" Kromm, Jr., 85, of Owings Mills, died Friday, May 18, 2012 at his home.

Born Oct. 28, 1927, in Virginia, he was the son of the late Alexander Kromm, Sr. and Nancy Reed Kromm. He was the husband of Klara E. "Kitty" Kail Kromm, his wife of 63 years.

He was a mechanical engineer and a veteran of U.S. Army during World War II. He was a graduate of Poly and received his engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University. He owned the House of Sound for 15 years and Photo and Hobby in Eldersburg for nine years. He enjoyed building and flying radio controlled airplanes.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, is a sister Nancy O'Roarke, and brothers David and James Kromm.

A private cremation was held at All Faiths Crematory and Chapel in Manchester. The service and interment will be private.
