Alfred C. "Bud" Yingling, passed away peacefully in his apartment at Carroll Lutheran Village on Sunday, March, 13, 2016, when God put His arms around him and lifted him to rest. He was born on January 3, 1920 near Uniontown, and was the son of the late Elmer C. and Eva L. (nee Barnes) Yingling. He was the beloved husband of the late Amelia M. Yingling (nee Weishaar). Bud was a Veteran of the United States Army. He started working at Lehigh Hanson Cement Co at the age of 17 after he graduated from high school, and remained a dedicated employee for 44 years. He was a long time member of St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church for 70 years, the Lions Club of Union Bridge for 70 years, and a charter member of the VFW Post #8806, of Union Bridge. Bud's true passion in life was dancing. He enjoyed line dancing at Carroll Lutheran Village where he was a resident. He was also a member of the 4 County Square and Round Dance Club. He was the devoted father of Douglas A. Yingling and wife Andrea, of Kempton, PA; cherished grandfather of Tyler Yingling, Alexandra Ferraro and husband Edwin, and Chelsea Yingling; and long time friend of Carol Lynn Hellbach (nee Mitchell). Family and friends honored Bud's life at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Rd., Westminster, on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, today, at 11 am at St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church, 700 Krider's Cemetery Rd., Westminster, with a visitation one hour prior to the start of the service. Officiating the service will be Pastor David Schafer and Chaplain Jimmy Schwartz. Interment will be in the cemetery of St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church. Memorial contributions may be made in Bud's name to St. Benjamin's Lutheran Church. Online condolences may be offered to his son Doug at www.prittsfuneralhome.com.
