Alice Beatrice Simon, 92, of Walkersville, formerly of Westminster, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Glade Valley Nursing Home in Walkersville.

Born Feb. 3, 1920, in My Lady's Manor, Harford County, she was daughter of the late Harry E. and Beulah Morgan Walker. She was the wife of William B. Simon, who died in 1976.

She had been a homemaker who enjoyed drawing, cooking and sewing. She had attended art school. She enjoyed going to church and reading her Bible.

She also liked being around children, teaching them in Sunday School classes at the churches she attended.

Surviving are children Leslie S. Merkson, of Cooksville, Mary E. Minton, of Panama City Beach, Fla., Robert W. Simon, of Ocean Isle, N.C., Daniel M. and Jonathan D. Simon, of Gettysburg, Pa., Stephen D. Simon, of Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Judith A. Gallagher, of Fort Collins, Colo.; a sister, Flora Alford, of Chambersburg, Pa.; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Frank E. Simon; and 11 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Pritts Funeral Home & Chapel, 412 Washington Road, Westminster.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ray Shutt officiating. Interment will follow in Druid Ridge Cemetery.
