Alice Flanagan Hall, age 84, died Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Fairhaven Retirement Community after a long battle with a debilitating disease. Born in New York City, she was the wife of Robert A. Hall, whom she married in 1953. She was a graduate of Hunter College, where she earned her BA in political science. Alice had been a Manager of Directory Advertising with AT&T. In 1957 she earned a honorary P.H.T. Degree (Put Hubby Through) from Pratt Institute in New York City. Alice lived in Rockland NY from 1963-1985, raised three daughters and was actively involved with the Girl Scouts. Alice served as PTA President for Elementary, Junior High, and Spring Valley High Schools, as well as on the Board of Education. In 1985, she became a certified Volunteer Mediation Counselor with the court system. Robert and Alice lived in Chatham NJ from 1985-2006, where Alice supported others as a Bereavement Counselor with St. Patrick's Church, and was a member of the League of Women Voters. In addition to her husband of 62 years, Alice is survived by daughters Patricia Hall and Suzanne Hall Contrera, along with her son-in-law Joseph, and grandsons Jack and Andrew Contrera. She was predeceased by her daughter, Lorraine Alice Hall. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Fairhaven Chapel, 7200 Third Avenue, Sykesville, MD.
