Alice Louise (Baker) Pascal of Westminster, MD passed on August 28, 2016 at her daughter's home. Louise was born July 29, 1932 in Princeton, NJ. She was the daughter of the late Harland Felch and Alice Louise (nee Dunstan) Baker. She spent her childhood years on Long Island, NY and in Williamsburg, MA. She graduated from Hannah More Academy, Reisterstown, MD and spent a year in Somerset, England at Porlock Vale Riding Academy earning her Horse Masters degree. She subsequently taught horseback riding at Hannah More, until she met her husband, Edward Louis Pascal. She became the youngest woman in MD to receive her Thoroughbred racehorse trainer's license and was the first woman licensed in three states. She and husband, Louis also a trainer, raced horses at area tracks in Timonium, Pimlico, Laurel and Charlestown. After moving to Carroll County, they opened Happy Hollow, one of the first boarding kennels for dogs in the area. Louise raised, exhibited and sold German Shorthaired Pointers for show and field. She was known as the" Peacock Lady", as she raised and housed many birds. She opened Happy Hollow Gifts and Crafts which served as an outlet for the many crafts she created. She was a frequent vendor at local fairs and flea markets selling handmade crafts and peacock feathers. She was a member of the William Winchester chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. In later years, she traveled extensively all over the world, accompanied often by her children and grandchildren. She loved the outdoors, horses and dogs, but especially her family. She is survived by daughter, Alice Louise Davis and husband, John; her son Edward Louis Pascal Jr.(Chip); grandchildren, Carissa Patterson and husband, Scott, John F. Davis and wife, Cortney, Thomas Davis and wife, Michelle and Joshua Davis; her sister Marian Bea Rogers and Bill; four great grandchildren, ten nieces and nephews & many cousins. She was predeceased by her sister, June Stewart. The family will receive friends at Clearfield Bible Church, where she loved attending, on Saturday, September 3, 2016 from 1pm until the start of the memorial service at 2pm. Pastor Ray Newman will be officiating. Interment will take place at a later date.
