Allen Ralph "Chappie" Craft, Jr, 73, of Manchester and Trenton, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by family and friends. Born on October 26, 1943 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Arlene Hare Craft and the late Allen Ralph Craft, Sr. He was the beloved husband of Brenda Armacost Craft for 53 years. He owned and operated the Manchester Beauty Lounge along with his wife and late mother. He truly loved his work and seeing his customers. Chap was known for his contagious laughter and friendly nature. He never met a stranger and considered everyone he met a friend for life. He had a gift for conversation and loved getting to know as many people as he could. Chap was a selfless person who helped out so many people throughout his life. Ocean City was Chaps favorite place to spend his time. He also loved spending time with his three sons and their families on the weekends. He was a veteran and spent 6 years in the United States Army Reserve. Surviving in addition to his wife are his sons: Shawn Craft and wife Kim, William Craft and wife Andrea, and Clay Craft; and his grandchildren: Aaron Craft, Sarah Craft, William Craft, Jason Craft, and Timothy Craft. He was predeceased by a brother: Courtney Craft. There will be a memorial service on Sunday, September 17 at 3:00pm. at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, 16530 Trenton Church Road, Upperco, MD 21155 with the Rev. Michael Adams officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church. Interment will be private. Arrangements are by ECKHARDT FUNERAL CHAPEL P.A., Manchester, MD.
