Allen Joseph William "Butch" Grammer, 64, of Westminster, died Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at Carroll Hospice Dove House.
Born May 29, 1948, in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Oliver Clinton Grammer and Edna Alberta Garner Grammer. He was the husband of Darlene S. Grammer, his wife of 35 years.
Before retiring, he was the maintenance technician at Caton Manor and also worked a number of years at Black and Decker in Hampstead, and was also a plumber. He was a member of the Littlestown Eagles and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are daughter and son-in-law Connie and Bradley Cando, of Hanover, Pa.; sisters Alice Edna Allen, of Fort Howard, twins Margiana Senseney, of Littlestown, Pa., and Georgiana Gill, of Berkeley Springs, W.Va.; a brother, Arthur Grammer, of Mississippi; a granddaughter, Mackenzie Cando, of Hanover, Pa.; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Logan Allen Cando; sisters Evelyn Phillips and Dorothy Rill; and brothers Edward, Robert, John and James Grammer.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Richard Shamer officiating. Interment will follow in Providence Cemetery in Gamber.
