Alto H. Clark, 80, formerly of New Windsor, died Saturday, June 2, 2012, after a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 13, 1931, in Union Bridge, she was the daughter of the late Samuel Carson and Helen Green Brooks. She was the wife of Fletcher Clark.

She graduated from Robert Moton High School in Westminster. She retired from Springfield State Hospital after 25 years of service. She was a lifelong member of Bark Hill Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are children John W. Patterson Jr., of Frederick, Michael C. Patterson and wife Barbara, of New Windsor, Jay A. Patterson, of Baltimore, Sherry R. Bowie and husband Tyrone, of Frederick, and Tina A. Turner, of Baltimore; a stepdaughter, Wanda Clark Whorton; a sister, Ethel Cooper; a sister-in-law, Helen Clark Bouyer; grandchildren Jerome, Michael II and Sandra Patterson, Naim Al-Ali, Tylynn Bowie, Serena Kefauver and Angelica Cassidy; step-grandchildren Jaryn and Saige Colbert; great-grandchildren, Jerome II, Jasmine and Jordyn Patterson; cousins; and many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Joseph H. Brown Jr. Funeral Home, 2140 N. Fulton Ave., Baltimore.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service, 11 a.m. Thursday at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Frederick. Interment will be at Resthaven Memorial Gardens immediately following the service.
