Alvin Leroy Steger, 73, of Manchester, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Jan. 6, 1940, in Manchester, he was the son of the late Alvin Clarence and Lettie Irene Zepp Steger. He was the husband of Ruth Ann Smith Steger, who died in 1999.

He was a retired warehouse manager for Black & Decker. Years ago he worked for Dutters of Manchester for 30 years.

Surviving are sons Randy A. Steger and wife Carol, of Littlestown, Pa., Rusty L. Steger, of Manchester, and Rodney W. Steger and wife Lex, of South Point, N.C.; grandchildren Ruth A. and Riley A. Steger, both of Littlestown; and a sister, Doris Gouker, of Hanover, Pa.

A memorial gathering will be held from 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday at Westminster American Legion Hall, 2 Sycamore St., Westminster.

Memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice's Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD 21157.

Arrangements are by Eckhardt Funeral Chapel in Manchester.
