Alvin McCorkle, 89, of Hummelstown, PA passed away Weds, Apr 27, 2016. Born Aug 31, 1926, in Hershey PA, he was a son of the late Harvey and Ada (Smith) McCorkle. He was the widower of Phyllis (Greenawalt) McCorkle since Sep 1997, and was also preceded in death by seven siblings. Retired from Suburban Propane, he had been co-owner of AH McCorkle Bottled Gas Service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. A US Army veteran of World War II, he served in the Philippines and occupied Japan. Surviving are his sons Jeffrey McCorkle (wife Rhonda, son Andrew) of Finksburg, Kevin McCorkle of Hummelstown (friend Cindy Railing, son Alex), and six siblings. A funeral service was held at Buse Funeral Home, Hummelstown with interment in Broadview Cemetery, Hershey. Memorial contributions may be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 1513 Cedar Cliff Drive, Suite 100, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
