Angelo "Chris" Partenza, 79, of Westminster, and Tavares, Fla., died Monday, Dec. 2, 2013, at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, after a brief illness.

Born Nov. 7, 1934, in Bronxville, N.Y., he was the son of the late Angelo and Adolfa Sarti Partenza. He was the husband of Myrna Reams Partenza, his wife of 57 years.

He was a graduate of Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Fla., and served in the Army. He owned and operated Chris Partenza Musical Instruments in West Palm Beach, Fla.

He was a member of St. George Episcopal Church in Hampstead, the Masonic Lodge in Florida and various music and choral groups. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was active in choral and instrumental groups.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are son Chris Partenza and wife Becky, of Westminster; grandchildren Garrett, Dimitri, Robert and Alma Partenza; a sister, Dina Partenza Dorney, of North Carolina; and sister-in-law Linda Reams Manning and husband Neil, of Vero Beach, Fla.

The family will receive friends from noon until 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Hartzler Funeral Home, 310 Church St., New Windsor.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster, with Monsignor James Farmer as the celebrant. Interment will be in Pipe Creek Cemetery, near New Windsor.
