Ann Bella Coster, 80, of Catonsville, died Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012, at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore.

Born Aug. 8, 1932, in Pittsfield, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Couture. She was the wife of John "Jack" Coster, whom she married Jan. 12, 1957, in Pittsfield.

She graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1951 and attended college at St. Luke's School of Nursing. She and her husband settled in Westfield, Mass., for nearly 10 years. The family moved to Reisterstown in 1968 and resided on Nicodemus Road for 37 years until the couple settled into their current residence at Charlestown Retirement Community in Catonsville.

She worked as a nurse for nearly 40 years and spent the majority of her career at Carroll County Hospital in Westminster, where she specialized in numerous advanced nursing services. She was active at St. John Catholic Church in Westminster, and worked on several religious education and charitable committees. Her interests included family, friends, birds, gardening and traveling. She spent much of her time and energy volunteering to help those less fortunate and was a pioneer in establishing hospice services in Carroll County.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Mary Coster; sons John Jr. and wife Dawn Coster, and Mike and wife Valeria Coster; grandchildren Jack, Sydney and Luzia Coster; brother Robert Couture and wife Linda, of West Springfield, Mass.; sister Elizabeth and husband Gerald Molochao, of Virginia Beach, Va.; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a stepmother, Ruth Couture; and brothers Albert and Armand Couture.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hubbard Funeral Home, 4107 Wilkens Ave., Baltimore; and from noon until the time of the memorial service and Mass, 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Lady of the Angles Catholic Church, 711 Maiden Choice Lane, Catonsville. Interment will follow in Meadow Branch Cemetery, 821 Old Taneytown Road, Westminster.
