Anna Mary Allen, 92, a resident of Fairhaven in Sykesville, died Saturday evening, March 29, 2014, at Fairhaven.

Born Nov. 26, 1921, in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Sarah Rachel Lookingbill and William Luther Hoffman. She was the wife of the late Vernon E. Groft and William H. Allen Sr.

Before retiring, she worked for Baltimore County Public Schools. She also worked as a caregiver and homemaker.

She was a former member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and painting.

Surviving are a son, David M. Groft, of Hampstead; a stepson, William H. Allen Jr., of Owings Mills; a sister, Beatrice Wolf, of Westminster; a sister-in-law, Arlene Hoffman, of Westminster; and grandchildren Dale E. Allen, Lisa M. McCoy and Jennifer Noah.

She was predeceased by a stepdaughter, Norma Noah; and a brother, Frank "Hank" Hoffman.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster.

Prayer services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg.
