Anna Virginia Bair, formerly of Union Bridge, died Sunday, February 25, 2018 at Carroll Lutheran Village Health Care Center, at the age of 97. Born August 31, 1920 in Frederick County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edward and Rachel Lee Warner Lippy. She was the wife of Ralph F. "Bud" Bair, who predeceased her in 2006. Mrs. Bair was a 1938 graduate of New Windsor High School. She was formerly employed with Borenstein Sewing Factory of Taneytown for 47 years. She was one of the oldest members of the former Union Bridge United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was treasurer of the trustees. She enjoyed gardening, tending to her flower beds and cooking. She resided in Union Bridge for 61 years, prior to moving to Carroll Lutheran Village in March 2005. Surviving are daughter and daughter-in-law, Edie and Kathleen Bair of Chestertown. She was predeceased by a grandson, Edward John Bair in 1988, sister, Isabell L. Hough in 2002 and brother-in-law, John E. Hough in 1997. Friends may call at Hartzler Funeral Home, 6 E. Broadway, Union Bridge, on Thursday, March 1 from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. followed by a graveside service in Mount Hope Cemetery, Woodsboro. Rev. Jimmie Schwartz, chaplain of Carroll Lutheran Village, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158.
