Anne Rose Mariner, 83, of Sykesville, died Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at her home.

Born June 22, 1930, in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Ann Worthington Seidel. She was the wife of Elmer Leslie "Whitey" Mariner, who died June 3, 1999.

In addition to being a homemaker, Anne worked for the former C&P Telephone Company and the United States Postal Service. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Community in Eldersburg. She enjoyed painting.

Surviving are sons and daughter-in-law Richard Earl Mariner, of West Virginia, and Leslie Allan and Theresa Mariner, of Sykesville; daughter and son-in-law Constance Anne and William Sapp III, of Sykesville; a devoted companion, Donald Fiddes, of Sykesville; a sister, Joan Walters, of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Margaret Seidel, of Odessa, Fla.; and grandchildren Jennifer and husband George Kilbourne, the Rev. Phillip Hurley, Elizabeth Benson, and Julianna and William Sapp IV; and great-grandchildren Claire and Margaret Kilbourne.

She was predeceased by a brother, Robert Seidel.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road in Sykesville. 

A funeral liturgy will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Community, 915 Liberty Road in Eldersburg. Entombment will be in Crest Lawn Mausoleum in Marriottsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157.
