Anthony Augustus "Fig" Bright Sr., 54, of Eldersburg, died Sunday, June 3, 2012, at home from an extended illness.
Born Dec. 22, 1957, in Glenwood, he was the son of Richard Bright Sr. and Sara Smith Green.
He had been employed as a truck driver with M.T. Laney Company.
He enjoyed social events and riding motorcycles. He was a member of The Back in the Day Motorcycle Club.
Surviving, in addition to his parents, are daughter Tyra Williams and husband Shawn; sons Anthony A. Bright II, Jason Bright and wife Tara, and James Welch; a sister, Isabell Kelly; brothers Richard Bright Jr., Joseph Bright and wife Linda, and Clifford and Timothy Neal; grandchildren Kylie and Elijah Williams; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a sister, Cheryl Young; and a stepfather, James Green.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg; and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service, 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Wesley Freedom United Methodist Church, 961 Johnsville Road, Sykesville. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to The Anthony Fig Bright Sr. Memorial Ride, checks payable to Jason Bright, c/o Jeffrey N. Zumbrun Funeral Home, 6028 Sykesville Road, Eldersburg, MD 21784.
