Anthony J. "Tony" Dailey, age 89 of Sykesville, died Wednesday, October 14, 2015, at his home. Born November 21, 1925 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late Charles I. and Leona Murphy Dailey. He was the husband of 67 years of Janet M. Dailey (nee Sterner). Tony was an avid Duckpin Bowler until he was 87 years old. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and belonged to the Sykesville American Legion Post for 45 years and valued the camaraderie of the Legionnaires. Tony loved spending holidays and special occasions with family and friends. Surviving in addition to his wife are children Mary Beth Gotshall and husband Thomas of Sykesville and David Dailey and wife Robyn of Woodbine, brother Michael Dailey and wife Hope of Sykesville, grandchildren McKenzie and Craig Dailey of Woodbine, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings Charles Dailey and Leona Ross. The family will receive friends today from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11am. Interment to follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottsville. Memorial donations may be sent to Carroll Hospice, 292 Stoner Avenue, Westminster, MD 21157. Online condolences may be offered at
