Tony Spinicchia, 83, of Brighton, MI was called to Heaven in the early morning hours on February 14, 2018 to be reunited with his loving wife, Cathy, on Valentine's Day. Tony was born in Baltimore, MD on January 30, 1935, eldest son to first-generation American immigrants from Italy, Giuseppe, and Santa (Alberti) Spinnicchia. Tony grew up in Sykesville, MD where he graduated high school in 1953 and joined the U.S. Army to serve as a hospital corpsman in Germany. Returning home, Tony was the first in his family to graduate college, from the University of Maryland in 1961 with a Bachelor of Science degree and a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. Tony accepted a position with Ford Motor Company and moved to Michigan in 1961 where he met the love of his life, Lillian "Cathy" Muczynski. The two were wed on August 17, 1963 and shared 48 years together raising their family in Livonia and Brighton and traveling throughout the United States and Europe. Tony was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed his time outdoors maintaining their homestead, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He was a devoted employee to Ford Motor Company for 30 years and long-time active member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton, MI. Tony was proceeded in death by his spouse, Lillian (Cathy) and his parents, Giuseppe and Santa. He is survived by siblings Caroline (Jim) Billingslea, Fred (Sandy), Joe and his children Marty, Paul (Kathi), Steve, Anne (Brad) Reinke and grandchildren Alyssa and Derick Reinke. Visitation will be Sunday, February 18, 2018 from 2:00-6:00 P.M. at the Keehn Funeral Home, Brighton, MI (810-229-9871). Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 10:30 A.M., St. Patrick Catholic Church, Brighton, MI with Rev. Fr. Joseph Campbell celebrating. Tony will be interred with military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, MI on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10:30 A.M.
