Arthur James Kuhn Jr., 80, of Manchester, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2012, at Carroll Hospice's Dove House in Westminster.

Born Sept. 9, 1932, in New Oxford, Pa., he was the son of the late Arthur James Kuhn Sr. and the late Blanche Caple. He was the stepson of the late Guilford Caple and the husband of 52 years to Audrey Marie Alban Kuhn.

He was in the Navy and served during the Korean War. He was retired from Black & Decker where he had worked for 35 years. He was a member of Bixlers United Methodist Church, Westminster VFW, Hampstead American Legion and the Manchester Masonic Lodge. He was past president of the Western Maryland Shrine, Westminster Bee Hive Club and the Lineboro-Manchester Lions Club.

He enjoyed traveling to Florida, gardening, NASCAR racing and spending time with his family.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children Gillford E. Kuhn, of Westminster; and Terry Lee Mays and husband Garth, of Hanover, Pa.; brothers-in-law Leon Miller and wife Judy, and Robert Miller and fiance Deb Seal, all of Manchester; grandchildren Kyle Mays and wife Donna, of Berkley Springs, W.Va.; Abbey Mays and fiance Tony Cassetta, of Hanover, Pa.; and Travis Mays and fiance Cary Heller, of Hanover; and great-grandchildren Jameson and Patrick Mays, both of Hanover.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Eckhardt Funeral Chapel, 3296 Charmil Drive, Manchester, MD.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will be in the New Lutheran Cemetery, Manchester.
