Athba H. Becker of Lady Lake Florida passed away April 22, 2016 at the Levine & Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, North Carolina. Athba, a hairdresser by trade, operated the Style Beauty Shop in Welch, West Virginia for over 30 years. Retiring from hairdressing she co-owned Welch True Value Hardware store in Welch with her late husband, Eddie Becker until 1978. In 1995 Athba moved to the Villages of Lady Lake, Florida where she became an avid golfer for the remainder of her life. Athba was preceded in death by; her late husband, Edward "Eddie" Becker, parents, Sam and Maggie Hammed, sisters; Ethel Blaney, Mildred Whaley, brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Janice Hammed. Athba is survived by her sister, Margaret McNicholas, son and daughter-in-law, Edward V. Becker, II and Kimberly Becker of Mooresville, NC, grandchildren; Ashley Miller, Gabriella Becker, Edward Von Becker, III, two great grandchildren, Caden Miller and Aubrey Miller. Nieces, Deedria Schmidt and Cathy Basil of MD. Her faithful dog "Piper" the love of her life. Athba was a member of the St Luke's Episcopal Church in Welch, WV and St. George Episcopal Church in Lady Lake, FL. There will be a private graveside service at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV where she will be buried next to her late husband on May 2, 2016 In lieu of flowers please donate to your local animal shelter. With all of her accomplishments in life, her greatest was that of being a loving mother leaving a void that can never be filled. Thanks for being a great mom. I love you mom.
