Audrey Edna Rhoten, 90, of Hampstead, passed away Thursday March 29, 2018 at the Long View Health Care Center in Manchester. Born September 5, 1927 in Baltimore County, she was the daughter of the late Carvel David and Rachel Alverta Hale Thompson. She was the wife of the late Carlin Woodrow Rhoten, who died in 2008. She enjoyed playing cards, slot machines, playing pool and doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Surviving are sons, William Eugene Rhoten of Westminster, Arthur Wesley Rhoten of Hampstead and Charles Lacey Rhoten of Westminster; daughter, Patricia A. Haines of Hampstead; stepson, Larry Augustus Rhoten of Richmond, VA; brother, Harold Webster Thompson of Towson; sisters, Carolyn Frazier of Parkville, Doris Marie Smith of Fayettville, NC and Joyce Johns of Timonium; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Monday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at ELINE FUNERAL HOME, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday April 3, 2018 at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Marshall officiating. Interment will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Parkton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions may be sent to Eline Funeral Home, 934 South Main Street, Hampstead, MD 21074 to help defray funeral expenses.
