Barbara Ann Baker, 71, of Preston, died Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012, at the Memorial Hospital at Easton.

Born July 2, 1941, in Hanover, Pa., she was the daughter of the late John C. and Helen Cook Jackson. She was the wife of Dennis Roland Baker.

She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Frostburg University. She was a teacher, salesperson and was self-employed with crafts.

She was a member of Bethesda United Methodist Church in Preston, where she was a member of Creative Hearts that donated profits to missions; was a choir member, a member of the Administrative Board, served on the Church Pastoral Review Committee, and was vice president of The Ladies of Bethesda.

She donated many of her crafts to Dorchester General Hospital, Memorial Hospital at Easton, and Caroline Hospice. She was also a member and past president of the Community Club of Preston.

Surviving, in addition to her husband, are sons Peter Edwin Litchauer, of Gettysburg, Pa., and Keith Alan Litchauer, of Baltimore; stepchildren Sheri Lewis, of Pasadena, Matthew Baker, of Gambrills, and Dennis R. Baker II, of Glen Burnie; 11 grandchildren; siblings Robert Jackson and Mary Fritz, both of Westminster; and three nieces.

She was predeceased by a brother, Richard Jackson; and a grandson, Roland Baker.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of service, 1 p.m. Wednesday at Framptom Funeral Home, 216 N. Main St., Federalsburg, with the Rev. Karen Handy officiating. Interment will follow in Junior Order Cemetery in Preston.
