Barbara Ann Barr, 70, of Woodbine, died Sunday, Sept. 22, 2013, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born April 4, 1943, in Sneedville, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Martha Bryant Smith.

She had been a clerk at King's Pharmacy in Woodbine for many years. She liked cats and gardening.

Surviving are a son, Brian Meadows, of Mount Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law Anna and Albert Pachett, of Mount Airy, Geraldine Gartrell, of Hagerstown, Linda and Oliver King, of Reilly, W.Va., and Geneva and Larry McGhee, of Lincoln, Del.; brother and companion John Smith and Cindy Cool, of Thurmont; and numerous nieces and nephews, including niece Ashley Patchett.

She was predeceased by a son, Michael Meadows; and sisters Jeanette Smith and Madlyn Loveless.

Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mount Olive Cemetery in Mount Airy.
