Barbara Jane Myers Bennett Carr, 84, of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, died Friday, April 18, 2014, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster.

Born May 11, 1929, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Jacob Myers and Mary Jane Byers Myers. She was the wife of the late Joseph F. Carr Sr.

She was an elementary school teacher for Baltimore County Schools at Church Lane Elementary and Franklin Elementary. She was a long-term member of All Saints Episcopal Church. She enjoyed her years with the Carroll Lutheran Village Community. She enjoyed reading, was a lifelong learner and world traveler.

Surviving are daughter and son-in law Anne and Tim Pfeiffer, of Roanoke, Va.; stepchildren Joseph Carr Jr., of Pickerington, Ohio, David and wife Peggy Carr, of Catonsville, Donna and husband John Bandzwolek, of Finksburg, and Nancy and husband Dennis Capps, of Lake Cormorant, Miss.; two grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church, 203 E. Chatsworth Ave., Reisterstown. A second memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 11, at Krug Chapel, Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster. Interment will be private.
