Barbara Mary Hobday, 73, of Finksburg, died July 25, 2012, at Carroll Hospital Center.

Born Oct. 28, 1938, in New York, she was the daughter of the late Edgar G. Fenrich and Ethel Brown Fenrich. She was the wife of George F. Hobday, who died Aug. 25, 2010.

She graduated from John's Hopkins University with a B.S. in Political Science. She also earned her masters from C.W. Post University in library science.

She was employed at Enoch Pratt Library in Baltimore and belonged to the Morgan Horse Assoc. Before retiring, she worked as a librarian.

Surviving are brother and sister-in-law Andrew G. and Juliet Fenrich, of Winchester, N.H.; stepsons Jeff Hobday, of Arlington, Va.; William P. Hobday, of Silver Spring; and Michael E. Hobday, of Finksburg; and nephew Edward Wands of Manhasset, N.Y.

She was predeceased by sister Virginia Fenrich Wands, her husband and parents.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sept. 28, 2012, at Little Baker Chapel at McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster. Inurnment will be held at Dulaney Valley Memorial Gardens.
