Barry Wayne Dahl died at home in Taylorsville, Maryland on May 14, 2017 at the age of 71. Barry was born in Connellsville, PA on August 6, 1945, a son of the late Charles Paul Dahl and Louise Mae Stull Dahl. He spent his youth in Mill Run, PA. He graduated from Connellsville High School in 1963 and attended West Virginia University. He earned his dental degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. He served as a captain in the US Amy from 1971 to 1973 before starting his dental practice in Maryland. He went on to practice dentistry at the same office in Columbia, MD for 43 years caring for 3 to 4 generations of some families. He and his wife Michelle married in 1973 and went on to raise their family in Taylorsville. He was a caring and loving husband and father. He loved his grandchildren, enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church and the American Dental Association. Barry is survived by his wife of 43 years Michelle Ruth Dahl of New Windsor, MD; his sons Gregory Dahl and his wife Victoria of Kodiak, AK and William Dahl and his wife Sheri of Bridgeport, WV, his daughter Jennifer McGowan and husband David McGowan of Virginia Beach, VA; his brother Ronald L. Dahl and wife Shelby of Baltimore, MD; his brother-in-law, William Fertall and wife Sharon of McMurray, PA; his three grandchildren Baillie McGowan, Lily and Roxana Dahl and his nieces and nephews Michael Fertall, Susan White, Rhonda Buchannan, Tina Butler, Lisa Burk, Michael Dahl, and Dawn Montgomery. He was predeceased by his parents Charles P. Dahl and Louise M. Stull Dahl. A funeral will be held at the Indian Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, 311 Baptist Church Road, Mill Run, PA 15464 on May 20 2017 at 1pm. A separate memorial service will be held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church at a later date. All are welcome to celebrate the life and memory of Barry at either occasion.
