Fort Ashby, WV- Beatrice Mae (Combs) Bledsoe, 83, of Fort Ashby, entered into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Monday, March 30, 2015. Born May 1, 1931 in Moorefield, WV, she was the daughter of the late James Elvin Combs and Minnie Edna (Lofton) Combs. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred M. Bledsoe, Sr.; and, two brothers, Roland Combs and Harold Combs. Mrs. Bledsoe was a graduate of the Bible Training Institute in Cleveland, TN. For 30 years, she was a minister in the Church of God of Prophecy. She served congregations in Patterson Creek, WV, Keedysville, MD, Cumberland, MD, Baltimore, MD, and Canton, MD. During her many years of serving the Lord, Mrs. Bledsoe was a children's minister, minister of education/Sunday School, youth minister, youth camp minister, nursing home minister, involved in women's ministry, and was secretary/treasurer at Lighthouse Church of God of Prophesy in Cumberland. In addition, she volunteered at The Dawnview Center, Lions Manor Nursing Home, and The Golden Living Center. Survivors include her six children, Norma Jean Jessen, Fort Ashby, WV, Fred M. Bledsoe, Jr., Cresaptown, MD, Carl N. Bledsoe, Lewes, DE, Wanda M. Barnes and David D. Bledsoe, both of Fort Ashby, WV, and Deborah F. Sadler, Glade, VA; five brothers, Marvin Combs, Landon "Bo" Combs, Norman E. Combs, Bruce Combs, and Keith Combs; 15 grandchildren, Vernon "Lee" Jessen, Jr., Timothy S. Jessen, Chaplain Melissa Jessen, Ursula Bledsoe, Raquel Bledsoe, Uresa Fogle, Chris Bledsoe, Michael Bledsoe, Jennifer Barnes Mohr, Bradley Barnes, David Bledsoe, Jr., Mandy Rogers, Joshua Sadler, Denise Sadler-Chapman, and Sara Worley; 24 great, grandchildren; and, 17 great, great, grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc.,Fort Ashby, on April 1, 2015 from 2-4 PM and 6-7 PM. The funeral service will follow at 7 PM. Interment will take place on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 1 PM in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Ellicott City, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Lighthouse Church of God of Prophesy, 307 Wallace Street, Cumberland, MD 21502; the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Chicago, IL 60611-3201; or to Mountain Hospice, 1002 S. Crim Avenue, Belington, WV 26250.
