Bernard "Penny" Stahley, 85, of Westminster, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at Westminster Ridge.

Born June 15, 1927, in Fairfield, Pa., he was the son of the late William and Nellie Overholtzer Stahley. He was the husband of Arlene Weishaar Stahley, who died in 2010.

He served in the Army during World War II. Before retiring he was a well known auto mechanic in Westminster.

He was a life member of the VFW Molleville Farm Post No. 467, American Legion Post No. 31, and member of Emmanuel (Baust) United Church of Christ.

Surviving are daughter and sons-in-law Laurie J. and Jeff Dahlka, of Reisterstown, and John R. Wilson, of Westminster; brothers Francis E., Paul W., Robert R. and David L. Stahley; sisters Doris L. Liggon, Ruth A. Utz, and N. Caroline Beard; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Bernie Stahley, who died in 1978; a daughter, Krisann Wilson, who died this year; a granddaughter, Michele, who died in 1994; a sister, Mary E. Bailey; and a brother, Kenneth Stahley.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of memorial service, 7 p.m. Monday at Fletcher Funeral & Cremation Services, 254 E. Main St., Westminster, with the Rev. Gerald Hanberry and the Rev. Gerald Fuss co-officiating. Interment will be private.
